Noise tests have shown that the new Dyson Airblade V hand dryer is 35% quieter than its predecessor. This is thanks to:

• precision airflows: the air openings have been reduced from 0.8 mm to 0.5 mm, so that the air velocity remains the same while the sound volume decreases;
• aerodynamic engine housing: the propeller and internal diffuser have been redesigned to achieve the quietest possible airflows;
• reprogrammed Dyson digital motor V4: finely tuned to 1,000W (up from 1,600W previously), so less air is drawn through the machine overall – creating less turbulence and therefore less noise, while maintaining a fast, hygienic drying time.
